Axon AI now available to our clients

We’re pleased to announce that Axon AI, the new advertising platform from AppLovin, is now available to our clients. Axon represents a next-generation performance environment where advertisers get a dedicated account — either Web or App — with support for both App→App and App→Web→App flows.

At the moment, access to Axon AI is available only through referral, or advertisers may wait until self-service accounts become publicly available.

What we learned after one month of working with Axon AI

Strict offer policies — accounts can be banned at the pixel setup stage

Axon AI applies automated content classification. If the system determines that your offer belongs to a restricted or prohibited category, the account can be permanently blocked even before launching.

We encountered this when setting up a pixel for a website collecting insurance leads — the account was banned immediately, and unblocking was not possible.

For web campaigns: pixel must be installed on the final lead-collection domain

Axon does not support alternative flows such as:

  • Using affiliate links
  • Placing the pixel only on an intermediate landing page
  • Completing the lead on a different domain

We tested multiple combinations — none worked. The only reliable setup is to install the Axon pixel directly on the partner’s final domain where conversions actually occur.

For app advertisers: separate account required for App→App and App→Web→App

Axon creates two separate account types:

  • Web advertising account
  • App advertising account

If you plan to promote apps with App→App or App→Web→App flows, you must request a separate App account. A single dashboard cannot run both Web and App campaigns.

Pixel setup requirements

For ecommerce and revenue-optimizing clients, Axon requires all mandatory events to be implemented. The list of required events is available here

For lead-generation campaigns:

  • page_view and generate_lead are mandatory
  • If the pixel includes all 5 required events → purchase can be tracked
  • If only page_view + generate_lead are implemented → purchase cannot be tracked, but lead-based optimization is possible
  • Important: you cannot run purchase and generate_lead (CPA) campaigns in parallel within the same integration

How Axon optimization works

Campaigns in Axon undergo a learning phase and begin full optimization on the seventh day of activity. To exit this learning period, the system must receive at least 15 target events within 24 hours. The recommended budget depends on how much spend is required to reach this threshold — there is no fixed minimum, as it is directly determined by your vertical’s conversion rate and the cost of the target action.

Axon AI shows strong potential as a high-impact performance platform, but it also requires very precise setup — especially around pixels and event tracking. We’re excited to offer early access to our clients and help them navigate all technical nuances to launch smoothly and scale efficiently.
